1. About these terms

These Terms of Use apply to the Vocabulary · Infinite mobile application (the “App”) and the website at vocabulary-infinite.com (together, the “Services”). They are provided by [Legal name / trading name], a business based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us” or “our”).

By using the Services, you agree to these Terms, subject to your legal rights. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled.

The App is currently intended to be distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement applies to the App unless a different licence is expressly provided. These Terms describe our service, content and purchase arrangements; they do not remove rights provided by that agreement or applicable law.

2. What the App provides

Vocabulary · Infinite is a vocabulary-learning app featuring curated word collections, multiple-choice quizzes, Survival challenges, flashcards, audio pronunciation and tools for creating your own vocabulary cards and learning sets.

A free Starter collection and personal learning features are available without a paid subscription. Additional curated word packs can be unlocked through optional one-time purchases.

The App is designed to work primarily offline. Some actions, including purchasing or restoring content, may require internet access or access to Apple's services.

3. One-time pack purchases

Paid vocabulary packs are offered as one-time in-app purchases, not recurring subscriptions. The price and currency applicable to your purchase will be shown by the App Store before you confirm payment. We do not charge automatic renewal fees for these packs.

When you purchase a pack, you receive ongoing access to that pack within the App on compatible devices, subject to the applicable App Store rules, technical compatibility and continued availability of the App. This is a licence to use the content, not a transfer of copyright or ownership of the underlying material.

A pack purchase covers the pack identified at checkout. It does not automatically include separately sold packs, future collections or other products we may introduce.

Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to validate transactions and help restore purchased access. We do not handle or store your payment-card details.

4. Restoring purchases and local data

The App provides a Restore Purchases option to help recover eligible purchases associated with your Apple Account. Restoration may require an internet connection and is subject to Apple's purchase records and applicable store rules. If you have trouble accessing something you've purchased, please contact us.

Your personal vocabulary, bookmarks, quizzes, settings and learning progress are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud account or synchronisation service for this learning data in V1.

Deleting the App, resetting your device or changing devices may result in the loss of local learning data. Restoring purchases does not restore personal vocabulary or quiz progress. Any device-level backup or restoration options are managed by your operating system or backup provider.

5. Refunds and consumer rights

For purchases made through Apple's App Store, you can request a refund or report a billing problem using Apple's Report a Problem service. Apple's processes and applicable App Store terms may govern how a refund request is handled.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights. Depending on where you live, you may have remedies if digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet legal requirements. Those rights apply independently of Apple's voluntary refund processes.

If a purchased pack does not work as expected, email [email protected] and we will try to help resolve the issue.

6. Words and cards you create

You can create personal vocabulary cards and learning sets within the App. You remain responsible for the material you enter, including ensuring that you have the right to use any third-party text you add.

We do not claim ownership of your personal notes or card content. In V1, they remain on your device and are not uploaded to our servers for publication or sharing with other users.

Please do not use the App for unlawful purposes or to infringe another person's rights.

7. Educational content and accuracy

Vocabulary · Infinite is a learning tool, not a comprehensive dictionary. A word can have many meanings, but individual cards and quiz questions may present only the sense most relevant to that learning activity.

We take care in preparing curated content, but definitions, example sentences, pronunciation, categorisation, distractors and other educational material may contain errors, omissions or differences in interpretation.

Material relating to medicine, science, law or other specialist subjects is supplied for vocabulary learning and general education. It is not professional advice and should not be relied upon to make clinical, legal, financial or other important decisions.

8. Intellectual property and licences

The App's software, original designs, curated learning material, artwork, audio and other original content are owned by us or licensed to us, except where a separate third-party or open-source licence applies.

You may use the App and purchased content for your personal learning in accordance with the applicable App Store licence. You must not redistribute, resell, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of our proprietary packs, artwork, audio or software without permission, except where applicable law or an open-source licence permits it.

Vocabulary · Infinite incorporates third-party dictionary resources, including Open English WordNet. Those resources remain subject to their respective licences and attribution requirements. We will provide further details in our [Acknowledgements & Licences page — link to add].

9. Updates and availability

We may correct errors, improve existing features and release updates or additional optional packs. We may also need to change features to address security, compatibility, technical or legal requirements.

We cannot promise that every version of the App or every feature will remain compatible with every device or operating-system version indefinitely. Where the law requires us to provide updates or other remedies, we will meet those obligations.

We will not introduce recurring charges for a pack you have already purchased without a separate, clearly disclosed purchase or agreement.

10. Using the website

You may visit and share links to our website, including for reviews, recommendations or general discussion. Please do not imply that we endorse you or your activities unless we have agreed.

You must not knowingly interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious code through it, or use its contents in ways that infringe intellectual property rights.

The website may link to third-party services. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you visit them.

11. Liability and legal rights

We aim to provide a reliable app and accurate educational content. However, internet services, software and device storage can sometimes fail, and no educational resource can guarantee a particular learning outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights and remedies that consumer law does not permit us to exclude.

Subject to those rights, we are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the Services.

12. Applicable law and changes to terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in a court or using a remedy that applicable law makes available to you.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements or business operations. We will update the date above and provide notice of material changes where required. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights you already have in completed purchases.
